Drawn by renown Chinese Painter Qi Baishi, probably during his "mature period", this watercolor depicts a hollowed out gourd and a cricket with a flower resting besides it. The gourd is hollowed out and decorated around the neck. These gourds were used a cages for the crickets in the winter months as the Chinese kept them as pets.
